As specified in the original ACF Bill of Materials felt was used to provide sound insulation between the sash and carbody. Strangely enough cork was found in its place when removing the windows. I'm using cut-to-size felt weatherstripping readily available at home improvement stores, attaching it with a construction adhesive.
