Bad side
Date: 12/12/2006
This view shows the 'bad' side with both patches visible.
Small patch
Date: 12/12/2006
The top and side sills are still intact at the smaller entry-door-sized hole. A temporary patch covers the hole which was made by vertically enlarging one of the tall windows.
Large patch
Date: 12/12/2006
The 20' hole and temporary patch from up close. The top sill has been cut but the side sill is still ok.
Bad repair patch
Date: 12/12/2006
Most of the sheet metal between the two patches is in bad condition and will need to be replaced. Biggest culprit is an old screwed-on patch repair.
Corner post corrosion
Date: 12/12/2006
A common problem with cars that ran in the northern states is that the corner posts are corroded through due to the year-in year-out use of large amounts of salt to keep the vestibules free of snow and ice in the winter.
End sheet corrosion
Date: 12/12/2006
Corrosion has eaten its way through the end sheet.
Hole in roof
Date: 12/12/2006
When looking for a place to lead an airconditioning duct through the folks at Andy's Tukwila restaurant decided to cut straight through a set of carlines (roof-trusses), making the repair for this hole - to say the least - a rather interesting one.
Tail-light housing
Date: 12/12/2006
The tail-light lens is shown cracked open. The Gyralite is long gone and a simple 110V bulb was used in its place at the restaurant. Also visible is the large buffer added by the CB&Q to facilitate mid-train service.
Roof sheet corrosion
Date: 12/12/2006
Clearly visible is a typical ACF passenger car ailment: corrosion of the roof sheets at the eaves.

One of two major parts missing from the underframe is the Waukesha genset.
