the longer future it will be made certain that St. Nicholas Mountain's
But for now: A lot of work still needs to be done. One day in the - hopefully near - future we will be able to again enjoy St. Nicholas Mountain's beautiful interior and relive the journeys passengers made on the Great Northern when they enjoyed riding the Empire Builder and Western Star across the vast plains and imposing mountain ranges on trips between Chicago and Seattle.

When the
restoration of St. Nicholas Mountain is complete she will be used
for Private Charters offered to individuals and corporations as well as
for private trips for its owner. Rail Cruises will be offered
throughout the USA and Canada as pre-arranged itineraries or as custom
made trips tailored to the customer's wishes and desired destinations.
With the emphasis on history it is the owner's strong desire to
restore and maintain St. Nicholas Mountain in its original
configuration. Only then can one appreciate the grand style of mid 20th
century travel on Great Northern's greatest trains. Some alterations
will be necessary to adapt St. Nicholas Mountain to current
standards and regulations as well as for its new role as a Private Railcar.
All these changes will be kept out of plain sight as much as possible.
